Getting a job before graduation was an amazing feeling for Jenny Brännlund, who contacted Nordlo for her thesis in computer science while simultaneously seeking employment. Today, she works as Development Lead & Quality Manager with team leader responsibilities for developers, where she connects developer expertise with customer needs through customer dialogues and project management in change journeys.
It started with me studying to become a systems analyst remotely via Luleå University of Technology. I contacted Nordlo to do my thesis and at the same time, I was also looking for a job within the organisation. This led to me doing my thesis on Nordlo's ISO certification 27001 and getting a part-time job as a BI consultant. It was a fantastic feeling to get a job before graduation.
Sharing knowledge and being able to help each other to become more efficient and focus on more value-creating tasks is important, which we do very well.
As a Development Lead, I have a team leadership responsibility for our developers. This means that I have a lot of customer dialogues, listen to needs, and propose solutions that can connect the developer's skills with the customer's needs. It is really enjoyable as there is a considerable amount of project management in the change projects that I get to be a part of implementing. This was exactly what I wanted to work with when I applied to the industry. I get to influence and drive the customer’s change journey forward. The most enjoyable part is the trust we receive from the customers.

Before I started at Nordlo, I worked in service. I have always been driven by the desire to develop and am interested in both team dynamics and personal as well as technical development. I wanted to take the next step and felt that the IT industry is the one with the greatest potential and opportunities for development.
On a typical working day, I have a lot of customer dialogue and talk with my team and our developers, ensuring they have the tools required to carry out their tasks. I care that everyone finds it enjoyable to work. The breadth we gain as a team is incredible. It is a great strength to be a team that can support each other both with expertise and in projects, but also socially and morally.
I care that everyone finds it fun to work.
I think Nordlo is an excellent workplace and I feel very comfortable here. If you want responsibility, you really get the chance. My personal experience is that I have had the opportunity to develop, and we as a team have taken on a lot of responsibility. We celebrate successes but also support each other in challenges. This week I was away at developer days where we, who work with system development and digital business development, gathered in a larger team to drive Nordlo's development forward. It led to interesting insights. We realized that there are many of us who can help on a broader front with skills exchange, resource reinforcement, and finding common ways of working.
The challenge is the complexity of different solutions. Often, we need to meet the business's needs with a solution that should be integrated into the clients' entire IT environment and business logic. At the start of a project, the requirements are not always entirely clear, and the need becomes more evident as one starts to untangle the project. Sometimes there is also time pressure related to the deliveries. Therefore, planning and prioritisation are crucial in change projects. Here, we always help each other as a team. One must not be afraid to tackle what arises.
Dare to reach out and dare to challenge yourself by taking up space. I believe you should think that if others can do it - then so can I. Have the courage to trust yourself and that you will solve what you set out to do.
The major challenge is to grow and to bring the right people into the industry. We need to attract driven individuals who want to keep up with the developments. Technically, we are moving more towards cloud solutions, and with this come both challenges and opportunities. We see a shift from hardware in a specific data centre to cloud-based solutions. Therefore, we need to continue to stay at the forefront and lead our customers towards the right solutions.
Our development team works a lot with data and backend solutions. We help our customers obtain what they need in their decision support. We ensure that the right data is in the right place, at the right time, and at the right moment. We also work a lot on automating processes to free up time for employees so they can focus on more value-creating tasks. This often results in highly customised integrations between systems and functions.
The biggest needs our customers have are to automate and optimise to become more efficient.
With close collaboration and good insight into operations as our focus, we have created many long-term and successful customer relationships across various industries.
