VOSS Production is a brand of spring water bottled in the characteristic cylindrical glass bottle. With an international corporate profile, VOSS requires that the IT systems are open and accessible around the clock, while the IT provider must be able to handle requests, incidents, and changes from all offices around the world.
As in all manufacturing companies with a high degree of digitalisation, great emphasis is placed on ensuring that the production lines in the Norwegian village of Vatnestrøm always operate optimally, which means that VOSS needs reliable IT systems and quick access to competent help when the need arises.
Solution
Complete solution with data centre, cloud migration, and pre-configured equipment
Nordlo has been VOSS Production AS's fixed IT supplier of services and hardware for many years. The delivery includes the operation of the server environment, both with virtual servers in Nordlo's ultra-modern data centre and physical servers in VOSS's premises in Vatnestrøm, while Nordlo is responsible for connectivity and other IT infrastructure with firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless access points at VOSS offices.
The digital security and protection against unwanted incidents are managed, among other things, through stable backup solutions, protection against malware, and good solutions for identity management and authentication for access to resources and data, all handled by Nordlo.
In Norway, VOSS purchases much of its IT equipment directly from Nordlo, where switches, computers, and tablets are delivered pre-configured and ready to be used, while any new client accounts are set up with the correct permissions. Access points are rented as a service, where Nordlo is responsible for the total operation and uptime.
Cloud Transformation and Digitalisation Partnership
VOSS Water began moving several of its IT services to the cloud, where Nordlo, as a digitalisation partner, closely collaborates with VOSS to ensure the transformation goes smoothly and without halting the production line. The goal is for all of VOSS's administrative programmes to exist in the cloud and for Nordlo to be responsible for operation and management.
"We have recently upgraded our communication solution to access our technical systems on a central operating platform and also upgraded old Windows machines in the USA. In both of these processes, Nordlo's staff has handled mapping, design, and project planning. The transition to the new platform takes place in direct collaboration with parts of our IT department, which we view very positively," says Finn Helge Omdal, Operations Manager at VOSS production facility.
