Proximity, personal relationships, and understanding of operations are the foundation of the partnership between Västerhuset and Nordlo that has lasted for over 20 years. During this time, Västerhuset has transformed from a largely analog business with two founders to an organisation with 16 curious employees and a high degree of digital maturity. Nordlo has continuously provided operations, security solutions, and ongoing advice regarding Västerhuset's digital transformation journey.

Västerhuset has always strived to support the local business community, so when the need for a new IT partner arose, Nordlo, which rented its premises from Västerhuset, was a natural choice. “We noticed that they suited us very well, and we quickly gained a lot of trust in Nordlo's employees. They showed early on that they understood our operations and what our needs and challenges were,” says Christina Karlsson, co-founder of Västerhuset.
It has been a full 20 years since then, and the collaboration is still going strong. “It depends a lot on our team at Nordlo. With great knowledge and commitment, they support us with development proposals, improvement opportunities, and solutions that are tailored to our business. They are proactive and responsive. Sometimes they come up with suggestions before we have even asked for them!”
Nordlo is always quick to help and guide us. They support us in our challenges and are very solution-oriented. You just have to pick up the phone and you'll receive support and improvement suggestions immediately.
With a partnership that has lasted for many years, challenges and problems have both arisen and been addressed many times, but one ongoing challenge is keeping up with an ever-evolving industry. "The IT industry is constantly developing, and knowing which path is the best for us is a challenge. Nordlo has both industry insight and understands our business well. They provide advice and proven suggestions that they believe will suit us," says Christina.
Another challenge is the specific requirements that the real estate industry, specifically within commercial properties like Västerhuset mediates, faces in relation to property VAT and tax. "Few existing software solutions meet the demands placed, and those that exist do not work very well. We manage Västerhuset's operations and updates during the evening, so everything runs smoothly," says Patrik Eng, customer manager at Nordlo.
Today, Nordlo delivers operations, user support, workplace, and security solutions to Västerhuset, where the team also manages print and mobile handling with a tailored concept that includes remote locking and wiping of devices around the clock.
With the increased risk of breaches and outages due to cyberattacks, combined with the customer's desire to enhance security, Nordlo conducted a security analysis of the entire Västerhuset IT environment. The review resulted in a list of risks and vulnerabilities that were prioritised together with the customer, after which an action plan was developed with the intention of carrying out the security analysis annually and increasing the overall security awareness throughout the organisation.
It is about the personal relationships and an understanding of who we are and what our needs are today and in the future. Our ambition is to grow, and Nordlo will definitely be part of that journey.
“Our previous cloud solution had a lot of issues. Nordlo's solution has worked very well, is kept updated, and meets the security requirements we desire,” says Christina. “The operational solution is probably what has made the biggest difference and resulted in better availability, cost control, and performance. The move to Nordlo's own data centre and smarter management of files and data has really streamlined the business,” says Patrik Eng.
The success factor in the collaboration between Nordlo and Västerhuset is crystal clear as it revolves around personal relationships and an understanding of who they are and what their needs look like today and in the future. “Our ambition is to grow, and Nordlo will definitely be part of that journey,” concludes Emil.
