Sokigo customises many of its deliveries, which requires a competent and dedicated delivery unit, which Sokigo possesses. However, to be a market leader in its field and to enable continued development, Sokigo wanted to find a partner. This is where Nordlo came into the picture, as a partner and supplier of IT infrastructure, operations, and support.

Sokigo is the market leader in Sweden in operational geographical IT. They provide digitalisation services to municipalities, authorities, and the forestry industry, offering a wide range of services that are often customised.
Through their delivery of uninterrupted digitalisation chains to many of Sweden's municipalities, Sokigo's services and products contribute to a simpler decision-making process in everything from building permits, detailed planning, and area planning. However, to remain market leaders in their field and enable ongoing development, Sokigo wanted to find a partner. This is where Nordlo came into the picture, as a partner and provider of IT infrastructure, operation, and support.
In the long-standing collaboration between Sokigo and Nordlo, a completely new infrastructure platform has been implemented along with a range of various development projects aimed at continuously improving security and being well-prepared for a threat landscape that is constantly changing, as well as implementing more efficient processes through automation.
This includes, among other things, segmentation to define which servers should communicate with each other and hardening, but also using automation to eliminate the human factor in repetitive tasks and ensure a process that looks the same each time. More efficient processes also mean that Nordlo has reviewed how Sokigo connects to the environment, ensuring that it is sufficiently secure and flexible, tailored for Sokigo's employees and their working methods.
Both the construction and migration to the new environment, as well as improvement projects, have resulted in an IT environment with high security and availability that makes better use of the infrastructure.
“Today, we don't have the expertise or resources to manage all our IT, and Nordlo helps us with everything from data centres, servers, to workplaces. Moreover, a lot is happening in the industry, especially in the area of security, and we can't be experts in everything ourselves. We need a partner with whom we can work and develop,” says Mikael Pettersson, CIO of Sokigo.
For Sokigo's customers, who are often municipalities and authorities, it is important, if not essential, that data is located in Sweden. Mikael Pettersson, CIO at Sokigo, also sees it as an advantage for the business that storage is kept within Sweden's borders. The further away geographically, the greater the risk; for example, natural disasters, other crises, and conflicts can cause issues. Another advantage of Swedish storage is, of course, that it is quick to travel on-site if needed.
We work with IT, but it's Nordlo that is our IT department and they are essentially like our own employees – fully understand our operations and are always close by.
The greatest value created for Sokigo is the collaboration with Nordlo and the development that occurs through this close partnership. Previously, a large joint project was carried out for one of Sokigo's customers where a VDI environment was implemented to handle heavy applications such as CAD programs and also manage a secure and seamless authentication solution, allowing the right people to access the right resources.
"It is important that we have a partner that we work together with; only then can we utilise all the expertise that both companies possess. This has been the absolute most important parameter when it comes to choosing an IT service provider," concludes Mikael Pettersson, IT Manager at Sokigo.
Sokigo provides solutions and services for municipal and private actors based on proprietary software complemented by operational services. By capitalising on the synergies between its public and private offerings, Sokigo can offer unique expertise and modern solutions. Sokigo is part of the IT group Addnode Group.
