Sitting with a slow booking system with a performance that does not live up to expectations ahead of Black Week? Not an ideal situation for the logistics optimiser Zhipster, nor for Zhipster's customers. Something had to be done – and that’s where Nordlo came into play with a scalable operational solution in Azure.

Zhipster is a SaaS company that offers a transport management system that gives customers greater control over their supply chain. A logistics optimiser that provides the end customer with better overview and insight for the best possible delivery experience.
When Zhipster signed a larger contract with a new customer in 2023, the operational environment became slow, which understandably caused quite a bit of concern and issues. With Black Week approaching, it was estimated that around 10,000 bookings would go through the system each day, and having an operational environment that does not function in that situation was not an option.
We discovered issues in our environment in the form of performance, capacity, and uptime challenges, but our former provider could not identify any flaws in their delivery. It was then that we, through good references from Gina Tricot, came into contact with Nordlo, who could provide the proactive support and security we were looking for.
"We knew that time was tight, but we asked the right questions and quickly formed an understanding of the issues and the needs that existed for Zhipster as a company," says Christian Fast, account manager at Nordlo.
Meanwhile, information came in from the new customer that they were forecasting double the number of bookings during Black Week than previously communicated - about 20,000 shipments per day. It became clear to both Zhipster and Nordlo that a system change had to take place immediately.
Once Zhipster and Nordlo were in contact, it progressed quickly. Nordlo presented a scalable and flexible solution proposal in Azure that worked for all parties. The environment was set up, tested, installed, and migrated to Azure in just two weeks, on 23 November 2023 - the day before Black Friday.
We wanted to leave the hosted world and Nordlo helped us move our entire digital platform to Azure. The whole transfer took place in two weeks. It was a swift operation, very efficiently executed by Nordlo who could assist and guide us.
During Black Friday and the following week, 289,820 transactions went through Zhipster's platform. This is double what the end customer had forecasted, and a fourfold increase from the previous system and supplier. After the migration, the system's handling time for each booking was also halved.
"There are many good IT partners, but you want a partner who is on it. A proactive advisor who guides and supports us in the right way. Nordlo has the knowledge and commitment we are looking for," continues Jan Lundin.
Nordlo will continue to manage Zhipster's Azure operation moving forward. Nordlo's Azure Governance also includes license management, monitoring, and incident handling in Azure, as well as additional security measures and EDR.
"Zhipster continues to evolve as a company. Our platform still needs a skilled operations and IT partner, but we are also looking at the development of licenses. We also want to train staff in cybersecurity and add a more robust security system so that we can offer an even more secure platform to our customers. We have an ambition to grow, and Nordlo has the experience, knowledge, and proactivity that we want in an IT partner. But above all, they have good, present, and engaged employees. It always comes down to the individuals – they are the ones who make Nordlo," concludes Jan Lundin.
