Challenge
Fragmented project management without overview
As consulting engineers, Erelko lives on its project operations. But for a long time, the working methods were characterised by manual processes, fragmented information management and a lack of overview. Starting new projects took a long time, heavy CAD files could not be handled in SharePoint, and information was scattered between Teams, file servers and mailboxes.
The consequences were tangible: there was no consolidated picture of the status of projects, ownership was unclear and vulnerability was high. How far have we come? Where are the bottlenecks? What happens if someone leaves or an important email disappears?

Strategic advisory and a unified digital project platform in WorkPoint
With its role as a comprehensive partner and advisor with deep understanding of Erelko's business, Nordlo was able to take a holistic approach to the challenge. Nordlo worked closely with Erelko to reveal the real effects of the fragmented project management and formulate a vision: a unified, standardised model with guided processes throughout the project lifecycle, but flexible enough to handle the uniqueness of each project.
Nordlo's specialists in digital business development took Erelko through the entire journey, from needs analysis and solution design to implementation and the establishment of a managing internal group at Erelko. The solution ended up in WorkPoint, built on top of SharePoint and integrated into Microsoft 365, where previous solutions that Nordlo built in Power Platform, including management systems and CV functionality, are gathered on a single platform.

The solution has given Erelko clearer project management with concrete effects in everyday life. The start-up phase for new projects has been significantly shortened, responsibilities and ownership are clearly defined, and dependence on individual people and email threads has decreased. Employees now have a consolidated overview of status, documents, and next steps, something that was previously completely lacking.
Traceability strengthens both delivery reliability and quality towards the customer, and the ability to manage and reuse expertise internally has improved. Additionally, the solution has laid a solid foundation that makes it possible to connect data and AI even more in the future.

Next steps: A more data-driven and future-proof Erelko
Going forward, Erelko wants to become more data-driven, with smarter information management, reuse of knowledge and new insights. The plan is to connect more data sources, such as finance, well-being and skills sharing, in the project platform. Now with the solid structure required for AI and other new technology to make a real difference.
