Historically, during the time of the Civil Engineers' Association, Sveriges Ingenjörer managed their IT operations with in-house staff. When it was time for a change, a procurement was made to outsource the IT function to an external party. The primary reason for Sveriges Ingenjörer to procure IT rather than managing it in-house was cost considerations.

SACO IT-Service conducted a formal procurement, enhanced with hired external procurement expertise, and the overall perception at the end of the procurement process was that Nordlo would deliver the best. Among other things, Nordlo staffed the procurement meetings with the right individuals and expertise.
"This made us as a potential customer feel prioritised, and no questions were left hanging in the air. Nordlo's representatives in these meetings had the ability to articulate their solutions at all levels, and most questions that were addressed could be answered at the table. Additional positive aspects were that the proposed solution was transparent and included concrete and objective justifications for why that specific solution was chosen," says Daniel Milovan, IT Manager at Sveriges Ingenjörer.
The delivery to Sveriges Ingenjörer consists of full outsourcing, which includes everything from workstations and support to servers in data centres. Nordlo works with so-called unbroken chains in its deliveries, regardless of whether it concerns a workstation's lifecycle or a contract, which means that Nordlo takes responsibility for the entire process. An example of this is lifecycle management, from the purchase of computers to the decommissioning of computers according to the best technical, environmental and ethical application.
Sveriges Ingenjörer utilises available technology in a broad and detailed way to support the operations both in day-to-day activities and in projects and activities for its members. This entails a high level of activity, which places demands on an agile working method at Nordlo. Furthermore, Nordlo has a delivery model based on key performance indicators, the NKI result (customer satisfaction index), which allows the customer to terminate the contract if they are not satisfied.
Why change a winning concept? We have simply been satisfied with the delivery and partnership with Nordlo.
Thanks to stable delivery and good partnerships, Sveriges Ingenjörer chose to extend the agreement this year. The collaboration has given the association greater flexibility, predictable costs, higher operational reliability, and a more qualified environment from a technical standpoint.
“Why change a winning concept? We have simply been satisfied with the delivery and partnership with Nordlo. They continuously show us that we as a customer are important to them and they have developed a good understanding of our operations during the previous contract period. When we need to drive projects or make changes, they are quick to understand why, provide their input, and then carry out the necessary work according to plan. Not everything is always perfect, and this is where a supplier can really distinguish themselves. Nordlo has done this, and to summarise our partnership – it is enjoyable to work with Nordlo,” says Daniel Milovan.
Sveriges Ingenjörer is a trade union and an interest organisation for university-educated engineers. With 180,000 members, they have the power to influence society, create good working conditions, and strengthen the role of engineers.
