After a change of ownership, it became clear that one of the prerequisites for success is to streamline – simply focus on the core business and create cost efficiency by analysing what the company should excel at and what others should handle for them.

Risk and vulnerability analysis led to a comprehensive solution in the data centre
As with many manufacturing companies, operational disruptions can lead to significant costs, making a reliable IT environment directly business-critical. The collaboration between the sister company Texor and Nordlo has spanned more than 12 years, and in 2019, Nordlo was asked to assist Indexator with a risk and vulnerability analysis as a step towards gaining a deeper understanding of the IT environment.
The analysis with improvement suggestions that Nordlo presented made the choice easy, as IT is important for so many reasons:

Indexator needed a comprehensive solution, and the decision naturally fell to outsource the entire IT operations to Nordlo.
In just one year, the company transformed from a scattered IT environment, where they themselves spent many hours on maintenance, to a reliable holistic solution with access to broader expertise and the assurance of getting quick help when needed, resulting in a happier workgroup and a positive view of IT throughout the organization.
From own server management to the Bergrummet
In terms of space, it is also difficult to manage your own servers that require both cooling and security. Nordlo's data centre Bergrummet, with its sustainability profile and security classification, appealed to Indexator and a hybrid IT solution was created to ensure full availability and functionality.
Business System Transition with Professional Support
A versatile business system is crucial regardless of the industry as it needs to cover almost everything related to the business. Like many other industrial companies, Indexator chose to implement Monitor and made a switch from Infor M3 to Monitor G5, which of course involved challenges at the start-up that Nordlo resolved very effectively.
For Indexator, it was important to choose an IT partner with extensive knowledge and a deep understanding of the business, but it was also critical to receive immediate support if problems arise. The possibility of spending more time on business development while also cutting IT costs by almost half was appealing, but ultimately it's about ensuring that employees quickly receive the support they need to do what they do best.
For us, a lot has been about streamlining and focusing on our core business, simply analysing what we should be really good at and what we should let others handle for us.
