Together with Nordlo, Globe Technologies has reduced administrative costs while the data exchange between the company's units has become faster. Operations now take place from Nordlo's server halls in Sweden, and Nordlo provides computers with accessories along with various types of licenses and support, which gives the company the flexibility to quickly scale up in case of new hires.
Nordlo has also recently launched a project aimed at raising the security level and security awareness throughout the Globe Technologies group.
“Battery products are a rapidly growing segment. We are an international company based in Asia, where the pace is high. Therefore, we need a strategic IT partner who is proactive, and we have that in Nordlo. They are as forward-thinking as we are,” says Ralf Pankalla, Vice President Operations Europe at Globe Technologies.
Globe Technologies offers battery-powered garden products within the professional and consumer segments. The company has approximately 6000 employees, with production and logistics centres in Asia and offices in Sweden, Germany, North America, and Asia, and is currently in the process of establishing subsidiaries in France and Italy.
“We are growing rapidly and have plans to start delivering to France and Italy. It is a competitive industry with large players, where the battery segment is increasing more and more. We have been looking for a local and close IT partner who actively provides strategic advice and is engaged.”
The collaboration started in 2019 and with Nordlo's help, Globe Technologies has implemented a self-service portal for example password changes and an identity and access management system, to regulate what the organization's users should have access to. The IT operations for the whole of Globe Technologies now take place from Nordlo's data centres in Sweden.
Nordlo also provides the service Modern Workplace in Sweden, France, Italy, and Germany. Globe Technologies employees receive computers and accessories as well as ongoing support and assistance with selected applications and licenses.
To raise the group's security awareness and support employees, Nordlo has launched a Security Awareness solution for the company's staff in Europe. This includes shorter training sessions for staff, so-called micro-training, to proactively address security issues. The training is tailored to the current threat landscape and is translated into local languages for Globe Technologies employees in Europe and also Asia.
“Nordlo has helped us increase security awareness throughout the group, not just in Sweden but also in the USA and Asia,” says Ralf Pankalla. Nordlo is continuously working to secure the IT infrastructure.
“We are in the process of further securing the company's networks and firewalls in Sweden, France, and Italy. The offices will then receive the same solution, which reduces the risk of disruptions and increases the group's security level,” says Magnus Abrahamsson, business developer at Nordlo in Jönköping.
We are an international company based in Asia where the pace is high. Therefore, we need a strategic IT partner who is alert. We have that in Nordlo, which is as proactive as we are.
Nordlo is a close partner in digital business development, and a new intranet will be launched in the spring. The onboarding and offboarding of employees is largely automated today, and work is ongoing to further minimise manual intervention. Employees are integrated into the HR systems, where accounts and security flows are automatically created.
"It has eliminated several risks for sources of error. In the future, we see that new employees are entered once into the HR system, and thereafter the IT environment is automatically provisioned with the right permissions," says Magnus Abrahamsson.
The ongoing collaboration between Globe Technologies and Nordlo is both proactive and strategic, with regular quarterly meetings for planning and evaluation on how the IT function can best support Globe Technologies' expansion and business goals.
"Thanks to Nordlo taking a comprehensive commitment within IT, we have been able to free up capital and reduce administrative work. They have helped us build an effective collaboration between our various units, allowing us to access data faster and at a lower cost than before," says Ralf.
Ralf sees the proximity to Nordlo as a great advantage. He works at Globe Technologies' office in Jönköping, and Nordlo has an office in the same city. Every other week, a consultant from Nordlo is on-site at Globe Technologies for support.
We are heard and noticed, collaboration is easy and solution-oriented. Our industry is in constant development where new digital services are important to continuously develop. Therefore, we must have an IT partner that reacts quickly, which Nordlo always does.
