According to a study by the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, nine out of ten small and medium-sized companies say they use digitalisation for administration, but only 16 per cent use it extensively for business development.
Microsoft and Nordlo have set a joint ambition where the companies are committed to increasing the market presence of small and medium-sized companies in Sweden in the public cloud. The aim is to enable further growth by giving companies quick access to new functionality and technical innovations.
“In the public cloud, all types of companies can easily use existing solutions on the market and develop new services, including AI solutions. Our public cloud services can lower the threshold for innovation and provide increased security, while also being more cost-effective than developing new services in-house,” says Sophia Wikander, General Manager of Microsoft Sweden.
“Small and medium-sized enterprises are important to us; they form the backbone of Swedish business and are traditionally quick to embrace new technology, even though they do not always have their own IT departments. Together with Nordlo, we have a clear picture of how we want to strengthen their competitiveness with the help of our cloud services,” says Sophia Wikander.
Nordlo is one of the largest players in cloud services and infrastructure in Sweden. In recent years, the company has grown by over 50 per cent annually in the public cloud and has been one of Microsoft's largest partners in the segment for several years.
"Microsoft has the best solutions for small businesses, primarily in infrastructure and user-oriented services. More companies are now ready to take the leap into the public cloud and reap the benefits,” says Fredrik Almén, CEO of Nordlo.
In the partnership, Microsoft is responsible for the products and training of Nordlo's staff, while Nordlo is responsible for services and customer delivery. For Microsoft, the focus on small and medium-sized businesses and a partner like Nordlo is unique.
“Companies, large and small, that are early adopters of the public cloud have a good opportunity to gain a competitive advantage,” says Sophia Wikander, General Manager of Microsoft Sweden.
