Karolina Båvenholm, Head of M&A at Nordlo, and Fredrik Almén, CEO of Nordlo.
Since its establishment in 2018, Nordlo has completed 17 acquisitions as part of its growth strategy. The plan is to strengthen its presence in Norway and Sweden with further acquisitions, and the company also sees potential in European markets, including the Netherlands and Germany. In 2024, Nordlo's owner FSN contributed SEK 1.5 billion to be used for company acquisitions.
"The private equity market is well established in the Nordic region, not least in the IT industry. There is considerable interest in acquiring the type of companies Nordlo is looking for: small to medium-sized entrepreneur-driven companies with profitability and growth.”
"My role will be to ensure that Nordlo becomes the obvious choice for entrepreneurs and owners who want to find a long-term partner. Nordlo is well positioned with high customer satisfaction, stable business and growth, and a business model that focuses on customer value.”
Karolina has a background in investment banking and corporate acquisitions. She began her career at Lazard and Barclays, focusing on large Nordic companies, and has since held leading roles in M&A at both IVC Evidensia and the greentech company Aira.
“I have worked both as an advisor and on the corporate side. What attracts me to Nordlo is the entrepreneurial spirit and the welcoming culture. The acquired companies are allowed to continue to operate and grow under the group's brand,” says Karolina Båvenholm, Head of M&A at Nordlo.
Nordlo's goal is to grow half organically and half through acquisitions. The aim is to complete three to four company acquisitions per year. Nordlo has several dialogues in progress, and the hope is to complete at least one acquisition before the end of the year.
“Karolina's experience of international company acquisitions is particularly valuable. She has a natural social ability that makes her very well suited to represent Nordlo in meetings with new entrepreneurs. With Karolina, we see good opportunities to accelerate our acquisition agenda,” says Fredrik Almén, CEO of Nordlo.
