Quadrupled outcome when Zhipster chose Nordlo as IT partner

Sitting with a slow booking system with a performance that doesn't live up to expectations ahead of Black Week? Not a dream situation for logistics optimiser Zhipster, or for Zhipster's customers. Something had to be done - and that's where Nordlo came in with a scalable operating solution in Azure.

Zhipster is a SaaS company that offers a transport management system that gives customers greater control over their supply chain. A logistics optimiser that gives the end customer better overview and insight for the best possible delivery experience. 

When Zhipster signed a major contract with a new customer in 2023, the operating environment became slow, which of course caused a lot of concern and problems. With Black Week approaching, it was estimated that around 10,000 bookings would go through the system every day and having an operating environment that didn't work in that situation was not an option. 

“We recognised issues in our environment in terms of performance, capacity and uptime challenges, but our supplier at the time couldn't identify any shortcomings in their delivery. It was then, through good references from Gina Tricot, that we encountered Nordlo, who could offer the proactive support and peace of mind we were looking for”, says Jan Lundin, CEO of Zhipster.

The move to Azure paid off 

“We knew time was short, but we asked the right questions and quickly formed a picture of the problem and what Zhipster needed as a company.” says Christian Fast, account manager at Nordlo. 

At the same time, the new customer informed us that they were forecasting twice as many bookings during Black Week as previously announced - around 20,000 shipments per day. It was clear to both Zhipster and Nordlo that a system change had to be made immediately.

Once Zhipster and Nordlo were in contact, things moved quickly. Nordlo presented a scalable and flexible solution proposal in Azure that worked for all parties. The environment was set up, test run, installed and lifted over to Azure after just two weeks, on 23 November 2023 - the day before Black Friday.

“We wanted to leave the hosted world and Nordlo helped us move our entire digital platform to Azure. The whole move happened in two weeks. It was a quick process, and Nordlo was very efficient in helping and guiding us.” says Jan Lundin 

Fourfold outcome and halved handling time

During Black Friday and the following week, 289,820 transactions went through the Zhipster platform. That's twice as many as the end customer had forecast, and a fourfold increase from the previous system and supplier. After the move, the system's processing time for each booking was also halved.

“There are many good IT partners, but you want a partner who is on the ball. A proactive advisor who guides and supports us in the right way. Nordlo has the knowledge and commitment we're looking for,” continues Jan Lundin. 

The next step in the partnership 

Nordlo will continue to take care of Zhipster's Azure operations going forward. Nordlo's Azure Governance also involves licence management, monitoring and incident management in Azure, as well as additional security protection and EDR.

“Zhipster continues to evolve as a company. Our platform still needs a skilled operations and IT partner, but we are also looking at licence development. We also want to train staff in cybersecurity and add more robust security protection so that we can offer an even more secure platform to our customers. We have an ambition to grow and Nordlo has the experience, knowledge and proactivity we want in an IT partner. But above all, they have good, present and committed employees.
