The Challenge
VOSS Production AS is a brand known for bottling spring water in its distinctive cylindrical glass bottles. With an international corporate presence, VOSS requires its IT systems to be consistently available around the clock. Meanwhile, the IT supplier must handle requests, events, and changes from all offices worldwide.
Like many digitally advanced production companies, there is a strong emphasis on ensuring optimal functionality of the production lines at Vatnestrøm. Therefore, VOSS necessitates reliable IT systems and prompt access to competent assistance when needed.

The Solution
Nordlo Vennesla has been a consistent IT service and hardware provider to VOSS Production AS since 2005. Their services include managing the server environment, comprising both virtual servers in Nordlo's state-of-the-art data centre and physical servers located at Vatnestrøm. Additionally, Nordlo oversees the operation of lines and other IT infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless access points at VOSS offices.
Digital security and protection against unwanted incidents are ensured through stable backup solutions and protection against malware. Nordlo also provides solutions for identity management and authentication for accessing resources and data.
In Norway, VOSS primarily procures its IT equipment directly from Nordlo. Switches, PC models, and tablets are delivered fully configured and ready to use, with new client accounts set up with the appropriate access. Access points are rented as services, with Nordlo assuming total responsibility for their operation and uptime.
In autumn 2019, VOSS Water commenced transitioning several IT services to the cloud. As a digitisation partner, Nordlo collaborates closely with VOSS to ensure a seamless transformation without disrupting the production line. The goal is for VOSS to have all its administrative applications in the cloud by 2021, with operations and management outsourced to Nordlo.
“We've recently updated our communication solution to access our specialist systems on a centralised operating platform and upgraded old Windows 7 machines in the US to Windows 10. In both processes, Nordlo staff have been responsible for mapping, design, and project planning. The transition to the new platform is taking place in direct collaboration with parts of our IT department, which we view very positively,” says Finn Helge Omdahl, Operations Manager at the VOSS production plant.
