The challenge

With a growing number of employees and offices in several different countries, Montico needed an IT partner that could deliver a complete solution and provide everyday support to the company’s 150 employees, together with a long-term strategic way of working for the IT area. “We wanted an IT strategy to give the entire company a uniform, secure and functional IT environment”, says Beatrice Singleton at Montico. A procurement exercise was undertaken because the current IT supplier did not fulfil these requirements.

Nordlo was chosen from four potential IT actors, as it best corresponded to Montico’s needs.

“We’re so happy with a supplier that can give us an environment that works on an everyday level and can also help us with strategic IT decisions in the fact of future challenges”

The solution

“Initially, I saw Nordlo as an outsider, but you did a great job in the procurement and exceeded our expectations. So when we added up all the scores and impressions, it was Nordlo that came in first place”, says Finance Manager/part owner Lars-Göran Thorberg.

The winning solution for Montico was to begin buying IT as a service. Today, there are approximately 150 users in more than 20 areas of the country who receive IT equipment, services and support through Nordlo. As Montico’s business is frequently affected by the changing labour market, and sometimes by political decisions, the total flexibility provided by Nordlo’s workplace as a service works very well. Regardless of where they are located in the country, every user gets full support from customer services/the helpdesk in Jönköping, which is particularly important for all the ‘satellite offices’.

As well as user equipment and support, Nordlo supplies IT operations with monitoring, a hybrid environment with Office 365, licence management and Printer as a Service. The opportunities provided by the Office 365 suite mean that Montico has embraced more programs than previously, and the company is curious about employing Omnia as a future platform.

Since Nordlo and Montico’s contract began, a consultant IT Manager has been part of the concept. This has developed well and greater responsibility has been placed on this role over time.

The service involves seeing improvements in the existing IT environment on an overall strategic level, but also reviewing other more suitable areas to supplement or replace.

“Those of us on the IT committee, together with our users, are very satisfied with both services and support. We have an IT intensive environment with lots of simultaneous projects and system development, which requires considerable IT knowledge. So we’re happy with the support our consultant IT manager has given us in this project”, says Beatrice.

Customer value

There have been many changes since Nordlo took over responsibility for Montico’s IT environment, which now provides stable conditions for all users, with a customer support team that gives everyday assistance. “We’re so happy with a supplier that can give us an environment that works on an everyday level and can also help us with strategic IT decisions in the fact of future challenges”, Beatrice continues.

Stable foundations and the right IT tools for an efficient everyday service together with a carefully developed IT strategy will also make Montico competitive in its industry in the future.
