Globe Technologies prepares for growth with full IT solution
from Nordlo
Flexible, one-stop IT solutions
Globe Technologies produces chargeable battery-powered products for the home, garage and garden, and is involved in the technological shift from fossil-powered garden products to battery-powered ones. As a modern, international company with ambitions to grow rapidly, they need an IT structure to support their expansion and an IT partner that is strategically proactive.
Together with Nordlo, Globe Technologies has reduced its administrative costs while speeding up the sharing of data between the company’s units. Operation now takes place from Nordlo’s server halls in Sweden, and Nordlo supplies computers with accessories together with various kinds of licences as well as support, giving the company the flexibility to be able to upscale quickly, for example when the workforce increases.
Nordlo has also recently launched a project that aims to increase the level of security and security awareness throughout the Globe Technologies Group.
“We’re an international company with its base in Asia, and the tempo is high. So we must have a strategic IT partner that’s on the ball, and that’s what we have with Nordlo, they’re as forward-looking as we are”
Security high on the agenda
“Battery products are a rapidly expanding segment. We’re an international company with its base in Asia, and the tempo is high. So we must have a strategic IT partner that’s on the ball, and that’s what we have with Nordlo, they’re as forward-looking as we are,” says Ralf Pankalla, Vice President Operations Europe at Globe Technologies.
Globe Technologies offers battery-powered garden products in the professional and consumer segments. The company has around 6,000 employees, with production and logistics centres in Asia and offices in Sweden, Germany, North America and Asia, and is currently setting up subsidiaries in France and Italy.
“We’re expanding rapidly and have plans to start supplying France and Italy. It’s a competitive industry with major actors, where the battery segment is getting bigger and bigger. We looked for a local, accessible IT partner that actively provides strategic advice and is engaged.”
IT operations managed from Swedish server halls
The partnership started in 2019, and with Nordlo’s help Globe Technologies has, among other things, implemented a self-service portal for functions such as changing passwords, and an ID and access management system, to regulate what the organisation’s users can have access to. IT operations for the whole of Globe Technologies now takes place from Nordlo’s server halls in Sweden.
Nordlo also delivers the Modern Workplace service in Sweden, France, Italy and Germany. Globe Technologies’ employees are provided with computers and accessories, as well as ongoing support and assistance with selected applications and licences.
Micro courses to raise security awareness for staff
To increase the Group’s security awareness and support employees, Nordlo has launched a Security Awareness solution for the company’s employees in Europe. This includes short courses for staff, so-called micro courses, to work proactively on security issues. The courses are adapted to the current threat profile, and are translated into local languages for Globe Technologies’ employees in both Europe and Asia.
“Nordlo has helped us to raise security awareness throughout the Group, not only in Sweden, but also in the US and Asia,” says Ralf Pankalla.
“We’re in the process of further securing the company’s networks and firewalls in Sweden, France and Italy. The offices will then have the same solution, which reduces the risk of disruption and increases the Group’s security level,” says Magnus Abrahamsson, business developer at Nordlo in Jönköping.

A close partner in digital business development
Nordlo is a close partner in digital business development, and a new intranet is being launched in the spring. Onboarding and offboarding of employees is currently automated to a large extent, and is a task that is being developed to further minimise manual involvement. Employees are integrated into the HR systems, where accounts and security flows are automatically entered.
“This has eliminated several risks of fault sources. In the future, we envisage employees being entered once into the HR system, after which the IT environment is automatically provided with the correct access rights,” says Magnus Abrahamsson.
Future development
The ongoing partnership between Globe Technologies and Nordlo is both proactive and strategic, with regular quarterly meetings for planning and evaluating how the IT function can best support Globe Technologies’ expansion and business goals.
“Thanks to the fact that Nordlo offers a one-stop undertaking in the field of IT, we’ve been able to free up capital and reduce administrative work. They’ve helped us to build up an efficient collaboration between our various units, enabling us to access data more quickly and at a lower cost than before,” says Ralf Pankalla.
Ralf Pankalla views the close relationship with Nordlo as a major benefit. He works at Globe Technologies’ office in Jönköping, and Nordlo has an office in the same city. Every other week, a consultant from Nordlo visits Globe Technologies to provide support.
“We’re listened to and acknowledged, the partnership is simple and solution-oriented. Our industry is in a constant state of development, and it’s important to develop new digital services all the time. So we need an IT partner that responds quickly, which Nordlo always does.”
