Tell us about your role at Nordlo
As an account manager and advisor, it’s my job to help our customers to develop their businesses. It’s all about listening to them and understanding their needs in order to identify solutions that will improve their day-to-day work. Finding the best solutions means being creative and solution-orientated.
Tell us about your role
My main responsibility is to maintain contact with our clients, but I’m also involved in just about everything relating to the customer journey in Nordlo and our internal processes. We have a pretty democratic organisation in Gävle, which means our employees enjoy a lot of freedom and responsibility. I think this makes for a lively and progressive work environment.
I work with our clients in two main areas. Firstly, I try to make the day-to-day operation of their IT environment as seamless as possible, so they can focus on their core activities. Secondly, I help to streamline and develop their activities by providing efficient, sustainable IT solutions. The objective is to create as much benefit as possible for their business.
What have you done or worked with before?
I've been with Nordlo for the last six years but have worked in the IT industry for 12 – I also ran my own business for a while. Thanks to my background, I have expertise in a number of Nordlo service areas; however, to meet the needs of all our customers I must have a broad grasp and understanding of every aspect. I really like the fact that it’s so easy to find complementary expertise among my colleagues – both here in Gävle and at other Nordlo offices.
Describe a typical working day
There’s a great deal of variety, and one day is rarely like another. I often work with a lot of things at once. I’ll normally focus on a larger, long-term client assignment while also handling smaller cases that drop in during the day. Some days I’ll be in the office, and others I’ll spend visiting a customer. As I said, there’s plenty of variety, which is an aspect of my job I really appreciate.
What’s Nordlo like as a workplace?
I think Nordlo has a really strong, sound culture and an excellent working climate. Not only when it comes to our relationships with customers and use of business acumen, but also the way we take care of our employees and workmates. We have a strong sense of togetherness and unity both locally and across the group, combining the best aspects of a small business and a large corporation.
Talk about your day-to-day challenges at Nordlo
My biggest challenge is getting our customers to change old habits, and dare to think differently and in new ways, so we can give them the best possible assistance.
In addition, IT is a constantly evolving sector, so it’s important to stay on your toes and learn new things all the time. What you learned yesterday could be obsolete tomorrow, so it’s an advantage to be curious and open-minded. I think security will become even more important in the future, with the demands placed on the industry regarding reliability and proactivity growing quickly as digitalisation forges ahead.
What aspect of working at Nordlo is most developmental?
What makes me learn and develop the most is our clients. It’s not enough to simply have a command of IT. I also have to understand our customers’ businesses and requirements in order to come up with creative solutions tailored to their specific needs. As a result, I learn something new every day and become better at identifying customised solutions.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to work at Nordlo?
If you’re interested in working with a great team in a progressive learning environment, then don’t hesitate to get in touch.
